Baysail welcomes you to SailVenture Charters, an extension of our school in Havre de Grace, Maryland. We are excited to announce new sailing opportunities to our valued customers. Baysail is partnering with SailVenture Charters to offer learning, sailing, and vacation options in the Caribbean. SailVenture Charters operates Renegade Mermaid, a 44-foot Lagoon sailing catamaran throughout the Islands. The boat has a full-time captain and crew who will ensure your time aboard is refreshing, relaxing, and rewarding. This is a great opportunity to enhance your sailing knowledge and experience, while enjoying the vacation of a lifetime.
Speaking of knowledge, the captain is a certified ASA instructor, allowing Baysail to offer ASA certifications with coursework and skill training completed on Renegade Mermaid. ASA 104 BareBoat Cruising; ASA 114 Cruising Catamarans; and ASA 116 Dinghy and Outboard certifications are all available. But perhaps the most valuable education is the experience of living and cruising on a sailboat for a week with all it includes. Over the course of your trip, captain and crew will be planning a detailed itinerary including menus, provisioning, anchoring and harbor choices, customs and immigration procedures, weather routing, onshore activities, restaurants, watering holes, marine services, supplemental provisioning, and dinghy operation, not to mention SAILING! You can be as involved as you want or just sit back, relax, and enjoy the fantastic scenery.
SailVenture Charter trips are eight days, seven nights: Saturday to Saturday. The location varies throughout the season, starting in Grenada at the end of October, working north to Saint Martin by January, then working back South to Grenada by June. Trips are either “location” trips which start and stop at the same place or “passages” which began in one island country and end in a different island country. Each style trip consists of stops in different anchorages during the week. There are plenty of available opportunities to enjoy a great sailing experience. ASA certifications are available on either type of adventure. The hardest part will be selecting a destination.
